Dev log#1
Hey! It's been almost a year since the last update, I want to thank you all who have continued to support the games development. Since then we have gone through a lot of changes, story wise, team wise, game wise. To sum everything up, for the past year the game you all know as "Fridas" has been abandoned, or, should I say, postponed for later in the story.
We are building a timeline of sorts, one that will span multiple games, like a large project in a sense. The new game titled "The sunken place" is in development and a demo will release soon, we have a substantial bit of gameplay using Renpy and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.
Now that brings me to my second point, we didn't spend all of that time just working on story, our original game engine we were using was Renpy. Our coder left and since then and we took our hiatus- well- I took the hiatus to learn code, code proficient enough to become the lead coder on the team, I'm proficient with Renpy and could continue coding a game for hours. But with what Renpy Is- I don't think it's what I want for our game.
Now- I actually tried out another engine, Godot, an amazing engine that allows for all sorts of 2d things. But it was way too advanced for me, or maybe it was- we will see in the coming months. Anyway, I stumbled upon an engine called game maker, It's an engine that can make multiple rpg's and was molded to create a game you all know as "One night at flumpty's" In short, I want to combine rpg style gameplay, fnaf style office survival along with the whole visual novel aspect you all know and love.
So, I'm having a small debate with myself on if I should finish this "first game" inside of Renpy and then release it and then learn and gather the tools (knowledge, coding skills), Or If I should throw the game back on hiatus, learn and then come back with the new code. I'm leaning towards the former but either choice takes time, so I'll thank you all for being patient in advance. Tell me what you guys think- In any case, thank you for listening to my ideas and thoughts- Blam out.
Ps- Enjoy our old wip game menu that I posted with this.

c'è qualcuno che sa come finire la demo con la fine buona?
too many fnaf fan games all try to emulate the survival elements from the original fnaf games and I'm really fatigued by it. How many times do I have to sit still and look at cameras for 10 minutes? My favorite thing about Frida's is that it's a simple renpy game (well, maybe not that simple since the relationship points system is actually pretty difficult to figure out). I still look forward to the new game since it sounds unique, but please finish Frida's in a way that retains the simplicity of it if you can.
oh also I recognize the artist in this preview image, I'm glad to see them working on your team :)
i hope thiese animatronics came out :)
I understand, that makes sense.
